SharkRockets edged out for second

The Lonoke SharkRockets were swimming against the current as a team against Lakewood and especially the massive Cabot swim team, but still had some solid solid performances in the Lakewood Relays.

Lonoke finished third in the meet, just behind Lakewood and well behind Cabot.

The SharkRockets received their most points from Kayla McGhee, who won the platinum races in the girls 15-18 freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley.

Her brother Spencer swims in the 7-8 division and won the platinum freestyle, silver bronze and took second in the silver breast.

Lonoke’s top swimmers were most in the teenage divisions on Saturday. For the 15-18 girls, Tristan Bennett won the silver breast and IM, while Makenzie Bennett finished second in the gold IM. Baileigh Dulaney won the bronze free and back.

For the 15-18 boys, Tanner Canamore won the silver butterfly and finished second in the breast. Casey Long won the bronze butterfly, while Jimmy Evans finished second in the bronze breast.

Emily Armstrong had a good day for the 13-14 girls, winning the gold IM and finishing second in the platinum breast.

Kanon Williams won the bronze backstroke for the 6-under boys.
