Lonoke sweeps Malvern in junior high

Lonoke swept two junior high games from Malvern on Monday at the Gina Cox Center.

Lonoke won the girls game 34-4. Lonoke won the boys game 43-30.

In the junior girls game, Lonoke led 15-0 after one quarter. Kylie Hobson and Arian Philips scored four points each. Lonoke led 21-4 at halftime.

The Junior Lady Jackrabbits outscored Malvern 13-0 in the second half.

Keiunna Walker led Lonoke with 14 points. Hobson had five. Destiny Bracy and Philips had four points each. Annie Whisnant scored three. Mickenzie Williams and Deria Allen had two points each.

Lonoke is now 3-2 on the season.

In the boys game, Lonoke led 11-9 after one quarter. Tyler Spencer scored five points in the first six minutes while Kylan Branscomb and Isaac Toney added three each.

Lonoke pushed its lead to 24-12 by halftime. Toney and Spencer scored four points each during the second quarter.

Toney came alive in the third quarter, scoring 11 of Lonoke’s 13 points as the Junior Jackrabbits led 37-24 going in to the fourth quarter.

Toney led Lonoke with 20 points. Spencer added 11. Haven Hunter scored five. Branscomb had three. Conner Linton scored two while Tamerra Moore and Casey Martin each hit free throws.

The Junior Jackrabbits are now 4-1 on the season.
