Lady Rabbits win conference opener

The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits opened 4A-2 conference play with a 47-31 win over Southside Batesville on Monday.

With the win, Lonoke is now 5-2 overall.

The game was close in the first quarter with Lonoke leading 11-10. Jarrelyn McCall scored nine of her team’s 11 points.

McCall then added 11 of her team’s 15 second-quarter points as the Lady Jackrabbits led 26-20 at halftime. Amanda Sexton scored the other four points in the quarter.

Lonoke’s Eboni Willis nine of her team’s 21 second half points as Southside scored only 11.

McCall led Lonoke with 25 points. Willis had nine. Kerasha Johnson scored five. Sexton had four. Ashlyn Allen and Callie Whitfield each scored two.

Lonoke 40, St. Joseph 37

The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits outscored Conway St. Joseph 11-8 in the fourth quarter in beating the host team 40-37 in the third-place game of the St. Joseph Classic on Saturday.

The score was tied 10-10 after one quarter and Lonoke led 22-20 at halftime.

Willis led Lonoke with 15 points. Jarrelyn McCall added nine. Kerasha Johnson had nine. Amanda Sexton scored four. Kimistri Balance had three. Callie Whitfield had two.

Lonoke 55, Woodlawn 21

Lonoke knocked off Woodlawn 55-21 last week at Conway Christian High School.

Lonoke led 11-6 after one quarter. Callie Whitfield scored four points. Kerasha Johnson had three. Jarrelyn McCall and Eboni Willis scored two each in the first eight minutes.

Lonoke started to pull away in the second quarter, leading 26-14 at halftime. Eboni Willis scored nine in the second quarter. McCall scored six.

The Lady Jackrabbits outscored 29-7 in the second half.

McCall led Lonoke with 19 points. Willis added 13. Kerasha Johnson scored seven. Whitfield had six. Scoring two each were Haiden Jeter, Amanda Sexton and Kimistri Balance.
