The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits went scoreless the final 56 seconds in a 55-49 loss to e-Stem Charter School in the finals of the Goldfish Classic at the Gina Cox Center on Saturday night.
Lonoke led 49-46 following a free throw by Callie Whitfield with 56.1 seconds left.
E-Stem’s Gia Hayes hit two free throws with 41.9 seconds left to make the score 49-48. After a Lonoke turnover, e-Stem’s Olivia McWilliams converted a three-point play to give the Lady Mets a 51-49 lead. After another Lonoke turnover, McWilliams scored again to push the lead to 53-49.
Lonoke called a timeout with 13.4 second left. The Lady Jackrabbits were forced into a five-second call and gave the ball back to the Lady Mets.
Hayes iced the game with 0.4 seconds left, hitting two foul shots.
Eboni Willis led Lonoke with 15 points. Jarrelyn McCall had 11. Whitfield added 10. Amanda Sexton scored six. Kerasha Johnson had five. Ashlyn Allen scored two.
McWilliams led e-Stem with 31 points.
Lonoke led 14-10 after one quarter. Johnson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer. E-Stem took a 24-23 lead late in the first half before Willis scored with 45 seconds left to make the score 25-24 at halftime.
Lonoke advanced to the title game with a 42-33 win over Batesville on Friday night.
Lonoke led 12-10 after quarter and 18-17 at halftime.
Willis led Lonoke with 17 points. McCall had eight. Johsnon and Sexton scored six each. Whitfield added four. Kimistri Balance scored one.
Lonoke opened the tournament with a 50-21 win over Des Arc on Dec. 26.
The Lady Jackrabbits jumped out to a 17-0 lead after one quarter. They pushed the lead to 31-4 by halftime.
Sexton and McCall led Lonoke with 12 points each. Johnson had nine. Willis scored eight. Whitfield had six while Allen added three.
