Lady Jackrabbits split two matches at Cabot

The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits volleyball team opened the 2013 season Tuesday, splitting two matches at Panther Arena in Cabot.

Lonoke beat Jacksonville 25-17, 16-25, 25-11. The Lady Jackrabbits then fell to Cabot 25-12, 25-13.

In the third game against Jacksonville, Lonoke led 17-7 after the serve of Emily Moore.

Jacksonville pulled to within 17-11 before McKenzie Clement got a kill to get the serve back to Lonoke at 18-11.

From there, Lonoke’s Jarrelyn McCall served seven consecutive points to give the Lady Jackrabbits the win.

In the first game against Cabot, Lonoke fell behind 6-2 before pulling to within 7-4. Cabot pulled away for a 25-12 win.

In the second game, Lonoke fell behind 3-1 before rallied to lead 4-3 on the serve of Clement.

Cabot took a 6-5 lead before Lonoke took a 7-6 lead following a kill by McCall.

The Lady Panthers then pulled away for the 25-13 win.
