The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits scored early and often in beating Hazen 18-5 on Tuesday at the Lonoke Ball Park.
With the win, the Lady Jackrabbits improve to 8-5 on the season.
Lonoke took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The big play of the inning was a two-run homer by Amanda Sexton. Also scoring in the frame were Charley Jo Chesney, Jasalyn Truelove, Jessy Lewis and Jarrelyn McCall.
Truelove led Lonoke at the plate, going 4 for 4 with four runs scored. Sexton was 2 for 2 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
McCall scored three times. Also scoring twice were Chesney, Gracie Cole and Brooke Jackson. Candace James also scored a run.
Chesney got the win. She gave up two earned runs in five innings of work. She struck out six in the win.
Lonoke also won three conference games last week, beating Pine Bluff Dollarway 17-0, Southside Batesville 11-3 and Newport 14-1.
In the win over Dollarway, Truelove pitched a three-inning no-hitter. She struck out six of the 10 batters she faced.
Haylee Whitehurst led Lonoke with three runs. Scoring two each were Truelove, Jackson, McCall, Sexton, Janae Miller and Brittney Givens. James and Cole each scored once.
Against Southside, Lonoke scored seven times in the second en route to the victory.
Truelove also hit a homer in the win.
Scoring twice were Chesney, Truelove, Lewis and Jackson. Scoring once were McCall, Sexton and Cole.
Chesney got the win. She allowed three runs on eight hits in seven innings of work.
In the win over Newport, Lonoke put the game away with an eight-run fourth inning.
Chesney, McCall and Miller each scored three runs for the Lady Jackrabbits. Scoring single runs were Truelove, Whitehurst, Lewis, Sexton and Cole.
The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits finished third in the Ozarks Softball High School Classic on Saturday at Harrison.
Lonoke beat Elkins 7-3 in the first round but lost to conference foe Southside 3-1 in the semifinals before beating Huntsville 8-4 in the third-place game.
