The Lonoke Jackrabbits bounced back from their first conference loss to beat Stuttgart 59-45 on Tuesday.

The Jackrabbits are now 12-2 overall and 2-1 in 4A-2 league play.

Lonoke led 24-21 at halftime. The Ricebirds kept it close as Alante Stweart scored 10 points in the second quarter.

The Jackrabbits outscored Stuttgart 16-13 in the third quarter. Blake Mack scored eight of his 20 points in the third quarter.

The Jackrabbits sealed the win by hitting 9 of 11 free throws in the fourth quarter. Tykel Gray, who finished with a game-high 22 points, was 5 for 5 at the foul line during the last eight minutes.

Jamel Rankin added nine. Darrius McCall scored eight.

Dollarway 50, Lonoke 45

Lonoke battled back from a 34-20 halftime deficit against Pine Bluff Dollarway but couldn’t get over the hump as the Cardinals beat the Jackrabbits 50-45.

Lonoke outscored Dollarway 25-16 in the second half.

Blake Mack led Lonoke with 19 points. Jamel Rankin had 12. Tykel Gray had seven. Darrius McCall scored four while Darian Young added a three-pointer.

Lonoke 59, Carlisle 29

The Lonoke Jackrabbits jumped out to an early lead then cruised to a 59-29 win over the Carlisle Bison on Friday night at Bison Arena in the first regularly-scheduled game between the two teams since the 1996-97 season.

The Jackrabbits scored the game’s first 12 points, including a dunk by Blake Mack with 4:02 left in the first quarter.

Carlisle’s Cole Sheets got the Bison on the board with a basket at the 3:05 mark. However, the Jackrabbits scored eight more, including another dunk by Mack, to lead 20-2.

The Bison tried to keep it close and trailed 29-9 after a three-point play by Dominic Castleberry with 1:33 left.

After a Lonoke basket made the score 31-9, Carlisle scored the final five points of the half to trail 31-14. Devon Kendrick hit a three-pointer and Brynden Weems hit two free throws.

The Jackrabbits opened the second half with an 11-0 run to put the game away. Darrius McCall scored on a putback. Jamel Rankin converted a three-point play. Tykel Gray scored four in a row before Rankin scored again to give the Jackrabbits a 42-14 lead with 4:17 left.

Rankin led Lonoke with nine points. Yancy Cooney, Brenton Bryant and Darian Young had eight points each. Mack scored seven. Gray ahd six. Jawuan Bryant had five. Scoring four each were McCall and Justin Meadows. Bryson Jackson had three.

Kendrick led Carlisle with eight points. Weems added six. Castleberry and Sheets scored five each. Nick Schafer had four. Chance Richards added one.
