Pitchers Lane Moore and Shane Pepper combined for a five-hit shutout as the Remington Bullets beat Rose Bud 10-0 on Tuesday at the Lonoke Ball Park.
Remington is now 12-8 on the season.
Moore got the win in the six-inning game. He pitched four innings, giving up two hits and three walks while striking out two. Pepper pitched the final two innings, giving up three hits.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third when the Bullets scored twice. Nick Watson singled to center field and scored. Shane Pepper singled and eventually scored on a passed ball.
Remington added a run in the fourth. Christian James struck out but reached first on a dropped third strike by the Rose Bud catcher, eventually scoring.
The Bullets plated four runs in the fifth to lead 7-0. Pepper, Lane Moore, Deric Herring and Chris Hart each scored in the inning.
Remington’s final three runs came in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. Guy Halbert led off with a double and scored on a double by Moore, who eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Hart. Herring, who was hit by a pitch, scored when Trevor Ransom reached on an error.
Pepper, Halbert and Watson led the Bullets with two hits each. Also collecting hits were Moore, Hart and Christian James.
The Remington Bullets went 2-1 in the George Kell Classic at Newport last weekend.
Remington beat Rivercrest 13-2 in the first round but lost to Newport 7-6 in the semifinals Saturday. The Bullets came back to beat Jonesboro Armor Seed 11-8 in the third-place game Sunday.
Against Rivercrest, the Bullets used a seven-run fourth inning to pull away for the win.
Madison James was 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs. Lane Moore was 4-for-4.
Shane Pepper, Chris Hart, Moore and Halbert scored two runs each. Also scoring runs were Deric Herring, Madison James, Chris Fisher, Christian James and Wade Stout.
Hart got the win. He gave up three hits and two runs in five innings of work. He struck out five.
In the loss to Newport, the Bullets gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh after leading 6-4.
Pepper led Lonoke with two runs scored. Herring, Hart, Moore and Christian James each scored a run.
The Bullets never trailed against Jonesboro in the third-place game.
Remington scored single runs in the first, third and sixth innings while plating two in the fourth.
Trevor Ransom led the Bullets with two runs scored. Also scoring were Pepper, Herring and Madison James.
Nick Watson got the win, pitching six innings. He struck out five.
