Bullets hold off Searcy for 5-3 win

The Remington Bullets AA American Legion team held off a late rally to beat Searcy 5-3 on Tuesday night.

The Bullets led 3-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning. They plated two runs to take a 5-1 lead. Lane Moore singled and eventually scored on a passed ball. Madison James walked and scored when he stole home.

Searcy then scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 5-3. Searcy left the bases loaded to end the game.

The Bullets took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Blake Gooden walked and scored on a passed ball. Searcy tied the score at 1-1 with a run in the bottom of the first.

Remington took a 3-1 lead with two runs in the top of the third. Moore and Madison James scored on a triple by Gage Johnson.

Remington had only four hits in the win. Moore had two while Madison James and Johnson had one hit each.

Josh Mathis got the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings. He gave up five hits while striking out four.
