54 swimmers set personal bests for SharkRockets

The Lonoke Sharkrockets continued their excellent season in Bryant over the weekend while competing against the Maumelle Marlins and the host Barracudas.

Lonoke had 22 swimmers compete in 80 races, setting 54 bests

Kayle McGee looked dominant once again while swimming for the 15-18 girls, winning the platinum freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke races, along with a first in the gold butterfly.

That teenage group did well throughout, with Tristan Bennett winning the silver back, breast and individual medley. Makenzie Bennett added wins in the gold IM and silver butterfly.

On the boys side of the 15-18 year-olds, Jimmy Evans led the way with wins in the silver butterfly and IM and a second place finish in the free. Tanner Edways won the silver free, while Colby Rogers took the silver back. Casey Long won the bronze back, while Tanner Canamore finished third in the silver free.

Spencer McGhee had a big day for the 7-8 boys, winning the platinum free and also the silver back and breast.

In the girls 13-14 age group, Emily Armstrong swam to firsts in the silver back and butterfly.

Kanon Williams picked up points for the 6-under boys, winning the bronze back and finishing third in the free.
