The 2014 Lonoke County Relay for Life will be held Friday night at the Gina Cox Center on the Lonoke High School campus. The Relay is sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
As of Tuesday morning, 18 teams had signed up for the Relay. They had raised $9,962.11.
The Relay starts at 6 p.m. with the presentation of colors by the Lonoke High School Junior ROTC color guard. Leigh Stankoski will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
The master of ceremonies and survivor speaker will be Jada Huff.
The survivors laps will being at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The luminary ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. Luminaries are still available for purchase. They are $5 for a name and $10 for a photo on the bag. Forms are available at Lonoke Physical Therapy.
The relay is set to end at midnight.
During the relay, a Relay For Life t-shirt quilt and a pearl necklace form Sissy’s Log Cabin will be given away. Chances are $5 per ticket or 5 for $20.
The front parking lot near the main entrance of the Gina Cox Center will be reserved for handicapped and survivor parking.
