Students, parents, coaches and fans gathered to show Jackrabbit pride in the city park Friday for the annual City Wide Pep Rally.

For about five years, the community gets to meet coaches, football players, cheerleaders, and volleyball and golf players before the kickoff of the 2013 fall sports season.

The Lonoke Booster Club, who sponsors the event, feeds all the student athletes and sells Jackrabbit memorabilia.

“It helps us win [knowing] the city is behind us cheering in the stands,” Lonoke quarterback Kody Smith said.

Athletic director Nathan Morris said the pep rally is the first event of the year.

“It’s good for parents, coaches and student athletes to interact. It lets people get excited for the upcoming season,” Morris said.

He said the booster club is great.

The Jackrabbits will play at Star City Sept.6.
