Deborah Oglesby is seeking re-election on May 20 for the Republican Nomination for Lonoke County Circuit Clerk. Oglesby has served as the Lonoke County Circuit Clerk for four terms.
Serving in Lonoke County government for 19 years, during that time Oglesby served as deputy county/probate clerk, deputy circuit clerk and eight years as Lonoke County Circuit Clerk. Oglesby has also completed 147 hours in Arkansas Circuit Clerk’s Continuing Education classes through the Arkansas Public Administrative Consortium at the University of Arkansas. She was elected to the position of Lonoke County Circuit Clerk in November 2004.
Born and raised in the Cabot area, she has been a Lonoke County resident for her entire life. Oglesby is the mother of one son, Trevor, grandmother of Rylin Mae, and is the daughter of Donald Oglesby and Linda Finch of Cabot. She is a 1994 graduate of Cabot High School. Her civic involvement includes membership in the Junior Auxiliary of Cabot and serving on the Board of Directors for the Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center. She is a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Oglesby is actively involved in the Arkansas Circuit Clerk’s Association. She is a 2010 Alumni of the Lonoke County Leadership Training Class and served on the Lonoke County Leadership Steering Committee in planning the 2011 curriculum. Oglesby also has been accepted into the Arkansas Certified Court Manager Program.
“I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the amazing residents of Lonoke County,” said Oglesby. “Many changes have been made during my four terms as your Circuit Clerk that resulted scanning in all court & real-estate records making them more easily accessible to the public and enlarging the office to better serve the citizens of our county. I also implemented the automation of the court records with the Circuit Judges of Lonoke County that allows the general public and attorneys access to specific Circuit Court records.”
Oglesby is honored that she was voted “The Best” Lonoke County Employee in 2008 and 2010, her goal is to always treat others the way she would like to be treated. Oglesby describes herself as a “people” person and insists that all should be treated with respect and professionalism regardless of the situation.
“My door will always be open to the citizens of Lonoke County,” she said. “I would like to express my thanks for being allowed to serve as your Circuit Clerk and to ask for your continued support in the Republican Primary election. It will be my honor and privilege to once again diligently serve as your Lonoke County Circuit Clerk.”
