Lonoke County home sales up in July

Home sales in Lonoke County were up in July, similar to the statewide trend, according to a report by the Arkansas Realtors Association.

The ARA reported that statewide home sales rose from 2,178 in July 2012 to 2,594 in July 2013. Year-to-date figures for the state were also up 10.7 percent.

In Lonoke County, sales increased from 83 homes being sold this July, compared to 75 in July 2012, according to the ARA report.

For the year to date, sales were up slightly. The report indicated 515 homes have been sold in Lonoke County in July 2013, compared to 492 sales in the same month in 2012.

The total value of the homes sold in Lonoke County was down 2.4 percent for the month, year over year, decreasing from $11.8 million to $11.5 million. Year-to-date home sale values were up 6 percent, according to the report, increasing from $70.8 million in 2012 to $75.2 million in 2013. The statewide total was $434 million in July 2013.

The average price of the homes sold in Lonoke County was $138,915 in July 2013, down compared to $157,561 in July 2012. Year-to-date average prices went up slightly from $143,858 in 2012 to $146,113 in 2013. The statewide average was $167,407 in July 2013.

Pulaski and Benton counties led the state in home sales in most categories.
