Lonoke County home sales decrease in June

Home sales in Lonoke County decreased in June, while statewide there was a slight increase of 3.9 percent, according to a report by the Arkansas Realtors Association.

The ARA reported that statewide home sales rose from 2,359 in June 2012 to 2,453 in June 2013. Year-to-date figures for the state were also up 8.8 percent.

In Lonoke County, sales were down. Seventy-two homes were sold in June, compared to 92 in June 2012, according to the ARA report.

For the year to date, sales were up slightly. The report indicated 430 homes have been sold in Lonoke County, compared to 412 through by the same month in 2012.

The total value of the homes sold in Lonoke County was down 21.8 percent for the month compared year over year, decreasing from $13.7 million to $10.7 million. Year-to-date home sale values were up 9 percent, according to the report, increasing from $58.2 million in 2012 to $63.5 million in 2013. The statewide total was $411 million in June 2013.

The average price of the homes sold in Lonoke County was $148,441 in June 2013, up compared to $142,422 in June 2012. Year-to-date average prices were up slightly from $141,345 in 2012 to $147,717 in 2013. The statewide average was $167,455 in June 2013.

Pulaski County led the state in home sales in most categories.
