The Legends of Lonoke dinner and concert is an upcoming event for the student leadership team. The event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Gina Cox Center. Tickets will be available this week for $15 per person, that includes dinner and the show.

For those of you that may not have heard, the district sent in bids for the Class 4A state basketball tournament, Class 4A state volleyball tournament, and the 4A regional baseball and softball tournament to be held here. We were awarded all of the bids from the Arkansas Activities Association. We have much work to do beginning now and into next school year as we prepare for all of these events. We are proud to be able to host these activities and will need lots of volunteers and supporters to lend a hand in making these successful. March will be the first one, so we are planning now to host the 4A state basketball tournament.

Lonoke School District will be hosting a site for our local police and other law enforcement personnel to perform a drill at the high school on Monday, Jan. 27, during the school day. Drills and training are required for school personnel and students, as well as for law enforcement personnel (A.C.A §6-15-1303). We will do our best to keep the public informed of practices and related drills so as not to create alarm when you may witness many police and other emergency vehicles at the school campus.
