January is Arkansas School Board Member Appreciation Month! We will have a special recognition for Mr. Rick Pennington, former school board member that served 21 years for the students and our school system. We will also recognize all current Lonoke School Board members for their service on the same evening, Monday, January 27, 2014, at the regular school board meeting. The meeting time/date has been changed due to Martin Luther King holiday, which would have been the usual date of the monthly school board meeting. Everyone is invited to attend the reception. We hope to see past school board members so that we can say thank you to them as well for their service.
The school board reception will be held at the high school cafeteria from 5:30-6:15 p.m. The board meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the regular location, the district office. Please come to the reception and say thank you to our board members for their time, work, commitment, and dedication to the students, staff, and the community of Lonoke. Their vision and mission provide the guidance and direction for us as we work together for the success of all students.
Reminder: We are still in need of talent acts for our upcoming Legions of Lonoke Talent Show on Saturday, February 15, at the Gina Cox Center. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. with the show following. Please contact the superintendent’s office at 501-676-2042 for more information and details. Tickets will be on sale soon for $15 a person for the dinner/show. Ticket sales will go towards the Lonoke Student Leadership Team for leadership opportunities, projects, meetings, and community and school service endeavors that will enhance their individual leadership skills.
