The Lonoke Public School District is hosting the first “Legends of Lonoke” concert on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in the new Gina Cox Center at 6:00 p.m. for a dinner/show. Tickets will be on sale after the Christmas holiday break for $15 a person. We are seeking singing acts that can “look like” and “sound like” famous singing legends. To enter the show, you must be 16 years old or over and live in Lonoke, attend the school district, or be employed by the school district. There will be a tryout in order for our judges to select participants to perform for the concert. This concert will be a fundraising effort for the student leadership team.
Please contact the central office if you are interested in trying-out for this concert event. Contact information is 501-676-2042. Please provide your name, age, contact information, and the singing legend that you will be performing for the try-out. Meeting and try-out dates will be forth coming so that plans can be made and finalized for the upcoming concert.
We know that Lonoke has many talented singers that can sing and entertain. We are hoping to put on a concert that the entire family can enjoy. Please call in your information or stop by the central office to leave your information no later than Monday, January 13, 2014. You will be contacted about the try-out date and any other pertinent information. Please plan now for this special event and prepare for a Valentine night out with that special someone.
Don’t forget “Rake and Run” Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, from 8 a.m. to noon. If you know of someone that is unable to rake the leaves in their yard, please contact the superintendent’s office at 501-676-2042 and put them on the sign up list. Please be sure they live close to the school because the team members will be walking. There is no charge for this community service project.
