Conservation district taking applications for scholarship

The Lonoke County Conservation District is accepting applications for the Baxley Ball Memorial Scholarship, which was established in honor of Baxley Ball, who served on the conservation district board for about 43 years.

The scholarship is $1,000 and will be paid $500 per semester.

The scholarship is intended for Lonoke County students attending Arkansas colleges. An applicant must be a full-time student, have earned at least 60 hours of credit in an accredited college by the beginning of the scholarship award year, be enrolled in an agricultural or natural resources conservation-related curriculum and be working toward a degree.

Deadline for applying is June 1.
