The Lonoke Area Chamber of Commerce recently held their Chili Supper at the Lonoke Primary School cafeteria. More than 200 items were donated for the live and silent auctions. The attendance was down a little from last year but it did not deter the audience from enjoying the chili with all the trimmings, topped off with homemade cobblers and sweat tea, according to Leanna Rich. “Our audience was mesmerized by the talents of our auctioneer Freddie Thomason,” Rich said. Helping Thomason were the Red Hat Ladies of Furlow. “The chamber was pleased with the proceeds raised during the event,” Rich added. A portion of the proceeds goes towards scholarships and donations to various local charities throughout the year.
