Board votes to expel LHS student for calendar year

The Lonoke School Board met for a disciplinary hearing on May 22 in the administration building to discuss disciplinary issues of a high school student.

In a unanimous vote, the board expelled a male high school student for one calendar year for the violation of Rule No. 39, selling of distributing drugs. Neither the student nor his parents were present for the hearing.

Chris James, Tony Kelleybrew and Rick Pennington were absent from the meeting.

The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be at 6 p.m. June 24 in the administration building.
