On Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, the Woodlawn Community Center opened it’s doors at 10 a.m. for its’ weekly community event.

Those attending were, Laura Gregg, Jackie Gregg, Judy Johnson, Bowen Weathers,Anita Weathers, Ellen Bryant, Martha Hicks, Birtha Larkan, Mary Thate, Janet Ray, Emley Goodman, Sierra Goodman, Sue Grady, Andy Childress, Cecelia Anderson, Dorothy Henry, and Dorothy Williams.

President Cecelia Anderson opened the program, leading the attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. After singing “God Bless America,” Janet Ray gave the invocation, thanking God for our many blessing and remembering our faithful members, Alice King, who is in the hospital and George Wilson, who is also sick and unable to attend, and wishing them a speedy recovery.

Thursday was a special fun day for the Woodlawn attendees. (Playing Bingo.) Everyone brings useful and fun gifts and places them in a festive or brown paper bag. No money is involved, and everyone enjoys the day, playing “Gift Bad Bingo.”

After Bingo and fellowship, the food was blessed and everyone enjoyed their dinner.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, Kern Kennedy and the “Camp Ground Express.”will entertain everyone with their music. Oldies but goodies, best describes their music. Kern is famous for his keyboard and playing with the “Pacers.”

A wonderful program is planned, so come and enjoy the day with us at: 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North, at the Woodlawn Community Center. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for potluck.
