Woodlawn community news

On Thursday, July 31, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10 a.m. Those attending were: Roy Kittell, Doyle Anderson, Cecelia Anderson, Glen Pool, Dorothy Williams, Dorothy Henry, Birtha Larkin, Mary Thate, Andy Childress, Alice King, George Wilson, Rebecca Wilson, Sue Swayne, Anita Weathers, Janet Ray, Fred Dollar, Wanda Bryant, Ellen Bryant and Martha Hicks.

President Cecelia Anderson opened the program, leading the attendees in reciting “The Pledge of Allegiance,” and singing “God Bless America,” accompanied by Anita Weathers on the piano.

Rev. Fred Dollar gave the invocation, thanking God for everything and inviting the attendees to remember those that are sick and in need of prayer.

After “Amazing Grace” was sang. The program was turned over to Glen Pool, noted for his composing “Perfect World” and also singing many more religious and famous songs. He was a great inspiration.

Glenn blessed the food and everyone enjoyed their dinner.

Today, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m., Bryson Harpole will present a wonderful program of country music and songs. Come and enjoy the day with us at the Woodlawn Community Center, 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 north. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for potluck.
