Hello from Chambers Nursing and Rehab Center. Here’s the activities for the weeks of May 21-June 1:

On May 21, we enjoyed Bible study with Tumarshall Adkins and Carrie Polk. We went outside that afternoon to pitch horseshoes. On May 22, we had exercise class and played bingo. The big winner was Margarette Jackson. On May 23, the Chatter Club met, and we held our first event of the Olympics with a game of basketball. On May 24, we played bingo and the big winner was Brenda McGee. During the afternoon, we had our second event of the Olympics which was ring toss. On May 25, the last two Olympic events were horseshoes and lawn darts. That afternoon, we had the awards ceremony. On May 26, the Landmark Baptist Church came for fellowship, and we played dominoes.

On May 27, the Lonoke Baptist Church came for Sunday School, and Pleasant Grove Church visited. On May 28, we enjoyed family visits to celebrate the Memorial Day holiday. On May 29, we had our exercise class and played bingo. The big winners were: Irene Hazlewood, Jimmy Simmons and Jimmy Poindexter. On May 30, we held our monthly Birthday Party. All enjoyed strawberry sundaes. On May 31, we had exercise class and played bingo. The big winner was Jo Flynn. On Friday, we enjoyed guitar music with Jerry Foshee and Don Beasley. That afternoon was our outside social.

Billy Booth visited with Jimmy Simmons, Bessie Swaim and Floyd Churchwell. Hazen Lyons, Art, Lori and Parker Cole visited with Malvin Goode Charlotte Robinette, Bill and Emma Derryberry visited with Sarah Vinson.

Here are the results from the recent Senior Olympics:

In the basketball stand-up division, first place went to Margarette Jackson, second place to Clara Bishop, third place to Elizabeth Richey, fourth place to June Spann, fifth place to Floyd Churchwell and sixth place to Albert Schafer.

In the wheelchair division, first place went to Brenda McGee, second place to Kathryn Perkins, third place (unable to print name), fourth place to Luella Burleson, fifth place (unable to print name), sixth place to Thomas Montgomery and seventh place to Faye Householder.

In the ring toss-stand-up division, first place went to Elizabeth Richey, second place to June Spann, third place to Floyd Churchwell, fourth place to Margarette Jackson and fifth place to Albert Schafer.

In the wheelchair division, first place went to Luella Burleson, second place to Brenda McGee, third place to Thomas Montgomery and fourth place to Kathryn Perkins.

In the horseshoes-stand-up division, first place went to Floyd Churchwell, second place to June Spann, third place to Margarette Jackson, fourth place to Clara Bishop and fifth place to Elizabeth Richey.

In ther wheelchair division, first place went to Kathryn Perkins, second place to Thomas Montgomery, third place to Brenda McGee and fourth place to Virginia Hoipkemeier.

Lawn darts-stand-up, first place went to Floyd Churchwell, second place to Margarette Jackson, third place to Clara Bishop, fourth place to June Spann, fifth place to Elizabeth Richey and sixth place to Albert Schafer.

In the wheelchair division, first place went to Kathryn Perkins, second place to Thomas Montgomery, third place to Brenda McGee, fourth place to Luella Burleson and fifth place to Virginia Hoipkemeier

The overall male was Floyd Churchwell, and the overall female was Kathryn Perkins. The most valuable player was Albert Schafer.
