Lady Bison sweept Palestine-Wheatley

The Carlisle Lady Bison softball team swept a conference doubleheader from Palestine-Wheatley on Thursday, March 7.

Carlisle won the first game 3-2 and the nightcap 3-1.

In the first game, Carlisle took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. With one out, Ashely Reid walked and scored on a hit by Mallari Devinney.

Palestine-Wheatley tied it at 1-1 with a run in the bottom of the third. Carlisle took a 3-1 lead by scoring twice in the top of the fourth. Maddie Harrison and Taylor Mealler both scored runs.

The Lady Patriots scored once in the bottom of the fourth and had runners on base in the fifth but could not score the tying run.

Mealler struck out two in the win.

In the second game, Mealler allowed only run in five innings of work while striking out seven.

Carlisle’s Hannah Cooper scored twice in the win. She scored on an RBI single by Reid in the first inning. She also scored in the third. Katlyn Stock walked and scored in the third.
