Lady Bison get three big wins

The Carlisle Lady Bison softball team won three games last week, beating England in a non-conference game then sweeping Clarendon on Friday.

The Lady Bison beat England 13-2 on Wednesday, April 9.

Carlisle scored four runs with two outs. Scoring were Katlyn Stock, Taylor Mealler, Makayla Prince and Emily Merritt.

Carlisle scored six more runs in the second to lead 10-1. Scoring were Morgan Walter, Stock, Mealler, Prince and Ashby Terry.

The Lady Bison scored three times in the top of the fifth. Scoring were Walter, Mealler and Prince.

Mealler allowed only two runs on three hits. She struck out four in five innings of work.

Carlisle beat Clarendon 18-0 in the first game of Friday’s doubleheader then beat the Lady Lions 15-2 in the nightcap.

In the first game, five players scored three runs each. They were Lexi Andrews, Stock, Mealler, Prince, and Merritt. Also scoring were Walter, Terry and Maggye Jo McCallie, who hit a homer in the second inning.

In the second game, scoring runs were Andrews, Walter, Stock, Mealler, Prince, Merritt, Terry, McCallie and Signe Drongesen.
