The Carlisle Lady Bison broke into the win column with a 42-33 win over Woodlawn in the consolation round of the Bill Gibbs Memorial Tournament at Harmony Grove in Haskell on Dec. 4.

Carlisle (1-3) led 13-6 after one quarter but Woodlawn rallied to tie the game at 17-17 at halftime.

The Lady Bison outscored Woodlawn 9-6 in the third quarter to lead 26-23 at halftime.

Carlisle then outscored the Lady Bears 16-10 in the fourth quarter.

Faith Walker led Carlisle with 23 points. Presley Carter had eight. Kayla Golleher scored five. Morgan Walker, Kimberly Lott and Breanna Young had two points each.

“It’s a tough tournament that we went to,” Carlisle coach Jonathan Buffalo said. “It’s always good to get that first win. They fought hard. We’ve been undermanned the last couple of games. All of them stepped up. They all made contributions in the game and gave us a chance to get our first win.”

Carlisle will play in the fifth-place game Saturday at 2:50 p.m. against Poyen.
