Lady Bison drop two doubleheaders

The Carlisle Lady Bison had a rough week, losing four conference games — two each to Palestine-Wheatley and Hazen.

The Lady Patriots swept Carlisle 7-1 and 7-4 on April 16. Hazen swept Carlisle 12-4 and 7-2 on April 17.

In the first game against Palestine, Carlisle’s lone run came in the second inning. McKayla Prince walked and scored on a ground out by Emily Merritt.

The Lady Patriots scored two in the second, three in the third and two in the fifth.

In the second game, Carlisle led 4-2 after the third inning. Lexi Andrews scored the Lady Bison’s first run in the first inning. She singled and scored.

Maggye McCallie scored in the second. Morgan Walter and Taylor Mealler both scored in the third.

The Lady Patriots then scored five runs in the fourth to get the win.

In the first game against Hazen, Carlisle trailed 7-0 after the second inning. The Lady Bison got on the board in the top of the third. McCallie doubled and scored.

The Lady Bison then plated three runs in the top of the fourth but it wasn’t enough.

In the second game against Hazen, Carlisle trailed 5-0 after three innings. The Lady Bison got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Mealler singled with two outs and scored.

Carlisle’s final run came in the bottom of the fifth. Ashby Terry singled and scored.
