The Carlisle Junior Bison improved to 3-4 on the season with a 40-6 win over Marvell last week.
The win was the Junior Bison’s third consecutive after starting the season 0-4.
“Our coaches have done a good job and I think the players have done a good job of listening and getting better,” Carlisle coach Brandon Barbaree said. “You can see it. We haven’t turned the ball over. We’ve kept everything in front of us and not given up the big play. It’s just good to watch them grow as a team.”
Carlisle took an 8-0 lead with 4:46 left in the first quarter on a 43-yard pass from Tristan Seidenschwarz to Devon Kendrick, who also scored the two-point conversion.
Carlisle pushed the lead to 16-0 on a 64-yard run by Ty Golleher with 4:48 left in the first half. Kendrick added the two-point conversion.
Seidenschwarz and Kendrick hooked up again on a 52-yard touchdown pass late in the first half. Kendrick added the two-point conversion to make the score 24-0.
The Junior Bison scored two touchdowns in the second half. Tyler Sanders scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter. Kendrick scored the two-point conversion.
Seidenschwarz threw a 55-yard touchdown to Zach Caviness in the fourth quarter. Koltan Davidson scored the two-point conversion.
Seidenschwarz completed 4 of 6 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns.
Golleher rushed for 68 yards on 3 carries. Kendrick had 49 yards on 2 carries.
The Junior Bison played their final game Tuesday night, beating Des Arc to finish the season 4-4. A recap of that game will appear in next week’s newspaper.
