Trevor Jones and Erin Ellis were both recently awarded the Lonoke County Co-op Board of Director Memorial Agricultural Book Scholarship.
Trevor Jones is a graduating senior at Carlisle High School. He plans to attend Arkansas State University at Beebe, where he will work to obtain an associate degree in applied sciences; he then plans on transferring to either Arkansas Tech University or University of Arkansas at Monticello where he will work to obtain a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology. After obtaining his degree, he plans to work for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as a Wildlife Officer.
Jones is a member of the Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church and serves volunteer fire fighter with the Cross Roads Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of FFA at Carlisle High School.
He is the son of Timmy and Kathy Jones of Carlisle.
Erin Ellis, is a graduating senior at Lonoke High School. She plans include attending Southern Arkansas University in the fall of 2013 and studying agriculture education. Ellis has participated and served in numerous academic and extra-curricular leadership programs to include: FFA where she served as vice president, as well as president, Ag in Action Barn, Lonoke County Fair Clean Up, Stuff the Sleigh/Deck the Pod Chairman, and the Lonoke High School Prom Committee.
She is the daughter of Nathan and Karen Ellis of Lonoke.
The Lonoke County Cooperative Inc. is proud to support graduating seniors who chosen to further their education in an agriculture related field. The scholarship program was established in 2011 as a Board of Directors memorial to honor past Board Member of Lonoke County Cooperative which is deceased.
