Saturday: Arkansas Game and Fish Hunter Education class to be held Sept. 7, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 517 East 3rd Street, Carlisle, Arkansas. The class is free, but the number of attendees is limited. You must preregister for the class by calling Curt Moody at 870-552-3567 or 501-683-7000.

Saturday: The Holy Apostolic Church of God Pentecostal II will host a free breakfast from 7-8 a.m. The church is located at 204 West 3rd Street in Carlisle.

Monday: The Carlisle public library will have an Angry Birds themed activity from 4-5:30 p.m. All supplies will be provided. There will be two players per team.

Monday: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon in the Civic Center.

Monday: The Lonoke City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the court room.

Monday: The Carlisle School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the superintendent’s office.

Tuesday: The Grand Prairie Civil War Round Table will be meeting at the Lonoke County Museum in downtown Lonoke, Arkansas, 215 South East Front Street, at 7 p.m. Speaker will be Martin Gipson, Past President of Scott Connections. His talk will be on the Skirmish at Ashley Mills on Sept. 7, 1863. This was part of the Campaign for Little Rock. Gipson will also discuss the coming event that will be held in Scott on Saturday, Sept. 14. Everyone is invited and as always, guests are welcome. There is no admission charge.

Wednesday: The Carlisle Public Library will have a circus themed toddler time at 10 a.m.

Sept. 12: The Carlisle Public Library will be celebrating National Video Game Day. The wii will be set up from 1-5 p.m.

Sept. 14: There will be an open house from 10 a.m. until noon at the Carlisle Police and Court Complex, located at 121 West Main Street.

Sept. 16: The Carlisle Public Library will celebrating National Rock Day. Patrons are invited to paint a pet rock from 2-5 p.m.

Sept. 16: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. at the administration building.

Sept. 17: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.

Sept. 18: There will be a farm themed toddler time at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Sept. 21: The Lonoke County Fair talent show will be held at 1 p.m. on the Lonoke County Fairgrounds. Deadline to enter is Sept. 17. You can pick up entry forms from Jo McCallie or you can print them off from the website at lonokecountyfair.com. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jo McCallie at 501-626-7462.

Sept. 23: The Carlisle Public Library will celebrate National Checkers Day from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Sept. 24: The Carlisle Public Library will be showing the movie “Super Buddies” at 3:45 p.m. Snack will be provided

Sept. 25: There will be a Hats themed toddler time at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Sept. 26: The Carlisle Public Library will have Bingo 4 Books from 3:30-5 p.m.
