Monday: Kindergarten registration will be until 5:30 p.m. at Lonoke Primary School in the gymnasium due to construction. Open house will be from 6-7 p.m. for kindergarten students and preschool from 7-8 p.m. in the gym.

Aug. 7: A Homework Hotline Parental Involvement Event will be from 6 -7 p.m. at the Lonoke Carver Campus, old Middle School, located at 500 East Locust. Join us for hotdogs and drinks and receive information to sign up for free after school tutoring.

Aug. 11: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon in the Civic Center. Meal will be provided for $5.

Aug. 11: Come make homemade laundry detergent at 5:15 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. This is an adult program. Bring an empty jug.

Aug. 11: First grade open house will be from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. at Lonoke Primary school will be held in the Primary school gymnasium, followed by second grade open house from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Ninth grade open house will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Gina Cox Center, followed by grades 10 through 12 at 7:15 p.m.

Aug. 11: The Lonoke City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the courtroom at City Hall.

Aug. 11: The Carlisle School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom at the superintendent’s office.

Aug. 12: Bingo for books for all ages will be from 3-4 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Aug. 12: Lonoke Band Boosters is meeting on Tuesday, Aug.12, 2014, at 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 12: Lonoke Middle School open house for sixth grade students will be from 6-7 p.m. Followed by open house for seventh and eight grade students from 7-8 p.m.

Aug. 12: Drop in and meet Clifford the Big Red Dog from 2-5 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. Elementary ages welcome to the back to school party with Clifford.

Aug. 13: Angry Birds War from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. All ages are welcome to drop by and play.

Aug. 18: First day of school for the Lonoke School District

Aug. 18: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Administration building.

Aug. 19: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center.

Sept. 13: The Ward Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to this year’s annual Jamboree from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Ward Chamber Community Center in Downtown Ward. This year’s headliner entertainment will be none other than local country recording artists Willie Ray & Smokin’ Guns. In addition to Willie Ray & Smokin’ Guns (www.willieraylive.com), there will be live entertainment all day long with bingo games; cake walks, and a silent auction. New to the Jamboree this year will be food vendors. There will also be crafts booths, product specific booths, and informational booths available all day long.
