In the March 14 issue of the Carlisle Independent it was reported that Superintendent Jason Clark announced during the March 11 school board meeting that Mayor Ray Glover asked if the city could rent the Raymond H. Brown Gymnasium as a wellness center for citizens to exercise and walk around the indoor track. Glover said during the city council meeting on Tuesday night that he did speak to Clark about leasing the gym, but on behalf of ARCare and not on behalf of the city. He apologized to the city council for the mistake.
“I am not doing anything behind the council’s back,” Glover said.
Glover currently serves on the board of directors for ARCare. He will make a presentation to the Carlisle School Board concerning on behalf of ARCare leasing the facilities during the April school board meeting, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 8 in the boardroom at the superintendents office.
