CHS juniors chosen as boys, girls state delegates

Carlisle High School junior class has two boys and eight girls selected as delegates to attend the 2013 Arkansas American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State.

Boys selected are Cody Bowlan, sponsored by BancorpSouth; and Jordan Sheets, sponsored by Carlisle Lions Club.

Girls selected are Bailey Amaden, sponsored by Futuristic League; Makenzie Bennett, sponsored by Altruistic Club; Sloane Henderson, sponsored by BancorpSouth; Harley Hightower, sponsored by Carlisle Banking Center; Anntoneya Hill, sponsored by Carlisle Lions Club; Jana Hillman, sponsored by Progressive Club; Nicole Ring, sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary 133; and Morgan Walter, sponsored by Heritage League.

Delegates are chosen for their leadership, character, honesty, scholarship, cooperativeness, community participation and service. Boys State and Girls State is May 26-31. Boys State is at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Girls State is at Harding University in Searcy. American Legion sponsors Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary sponsors Girls State.
