Students, parents, coaches and fans gathered to show Bison pride in the city park Saturday with the annual Bison Booster Bash

Every August for 10 years, the community gets to meet coaches, football players, cheerleaders, dance team members and band members before the kickoff of football season.

The Carlisle Bison Booster Club, who sponsors the event, feeds all the student athletes and sells Bison memorabilia.

“It’s a unique environment; the community comes out to show support for us,” Bison football coach Brandon Barbaree said.

Barbaree thanked the booster club for their financial support of the football team and behind the scenes action, such as feeding the team before games.

“It shows how much the community cares about us. It gets us ready for football season,” Bison football player Jacob Jones said.

Jones said the team is really thankful for the community and for everything the booster club does for the team.

The Bison will play McCrory at home Sept.6 at Fred C. Hardke Field.
