Carlisle High School senior Bailey Amaden was crowned the 2013 Carlisle High School homecoming queen by football captain Austin Reed during a ceremony at Bison Arena on Friday.
Amaden’s attendants during the ceremony were Lily Bennett and Jackson Ellis.
Presley Carter was named the homecoming maid of honor. Co-captain Bo Weddle escorted her.
Other senior maids and escorts included: Katlyn Stock and Braden Reed; Sloane Henderson and Justice Bryant; Jana Hillman and Jordan Sheets; Alexis Andrews and Deron Ricks; Morgan Walter and Jacob Jones; Skylar Gosney and Cory Hart; Kayla Jenkins and David Orton; Taylor Prislovsky and Landon Sage; Makenzie Bennett and Cody Bowlan; Alex Malnar and Tristan Kirkman; Bre’Ana Young and Jared Kirk.
An address was given by both Amaden and Reed as well as the 1979 Queen Tammy Ricks and 2003 Captain Kyle Ingle.
“I was shocked and genuinely happy when my name was called on the intercom at school last week as the 2013 Carlisle Homecoming Queen,” Amaden said during her address to the public.
“I want to thank my parents for raising me in a Christian home and teaching me to treat others as I would like to be treated. Thank you to the Alumni association, Lindsey Thaxton, and everyone involved in making this Homecoming week so special. To the football boys, cheering on the Bison for the last six years has truly been a highlight of my life. Love you guys, good luck tonight, and Go Bison!”
Soloist for the afternoon coronation was Jessica Ellis. The ceremony concluded with the Carlisle High School Alma Mater.
The court was also honored that night prior to the Bison taking the field in pursuit of a 44-0 win over the Brinkley Tigers.
Amaden was escorted by her grandfathers Ron Bailey and Randall Amaden during the evening coronation. Her evening attendants were Lily Bennett and Fisher Thaxton.
