Frank, Hardke speak to Altruistic club

The Carlisle Altruistic Club met April 24 in the home of Charlotte Bennett.

President Carolyn Martin called the meeting to order and led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Carlisle Chief of Police Eric Frank and Melodie Hardke were the speakers. Frank gave tips on how not to be a victim of a theft and how to keep your credit cards safe.

Hardke finds homes for dogs at the Carlisle’s dog pound. She helps to find foster home for the dogs until they can be adopted. She puts pictures of them on the Internet and many of them are adopted though other rescue programs.

The club members enjoyed these speakers and learned much from them.

Ruth Woods called the roll and read the minutes of the last meeting. Dorothy Elmore gave the treasure’s report. District IV President Hazel Swilley reported on the GFWC Spring Convention in North Little Rock on May 3-4.

Sandi Tarter will replace Mary Smith as club reporter.

The next meeting will be on May 8. The Club will go to the Clinton Presidential Library. Hostess will be Alicia Pasley. The club was adjourned with the collect lead by Pat Hogan.

Hostess Charlotte Bennett was assisted in serving refreshments by other members.
