Today: Stop by the Carlisle Public Library and see the Santa display. They are celebrating Santa around the world.
Today: The Carlisle Elementary School fifth and sixth grade GATE product fair will be at 6 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria. The community is invited to come see the products students have developed this year.
Today: The Lonoke County Prosecuting Attorney is hosting a toy drive to benefit the Open Arms Shelter. All donations must be new and unwrapped and can be brought to the prosecutor’s office. Monetary donations are also accepted. If needing donations picked up, please call Jennifer or Jessica at 676-2807. Deadline is Dec. 18.
Today: The Carlisle Bison Tree currently has 56 families with 124 kids who have applied for help this year. The trees are located in both the Elementary and High School. Anyone who would like to help these families, are asked to stop by and chose a child to purchase Christmas gifts for. Unwrapped gifts must be returned no later then Dec. 9.
Saturday: The Match Game, the very popular television show from times past featuring: CASA vs. the Food Pantry and Lonoke County Council of Aging vs. The Lions Club at 6:30 p.m. at the Lonoke County Museum in downtown Lonoke, Ar. Tickets are only $10. Sponsors are needed for $25. This is a fundraiser for the museum. Call the Lonoke County Museum at 501-676-6750 to learn more.
Monday: The Lonoke Public Library Bunny Tales Story time will be at 10 a.m. for children age 2 and up at the library. We will start our Christmas theme for the month.
Monday: The Carlisle Public Library will have Pinch of This cooking demonstration for adults at 5:15 p.m. at the library. They will be making cookies in a jar gifts.
Monday: The Lonoke City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the court room at city hall.
Monday: The Carlisle School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the board room.
Tuesday: Santa will be at the Carlisle Public Library from 5:30-7 p.m. Bring a can food item and have your picture made free.
Wednesday: The Lonoke Public Library Bunny Tales Story time will begin at 10 a.m. at the library. We will have a gingerbread man story time for children ages two and up.
Wednesday: The Carlisle Public Library will have a Christmas themed toddler time at 10 a.m.
Dec. 16: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the administration building.
Dec. 17: Its is the last day to turn in your letters to Santa at the Carlisle Public Library. Letters will be personally delivered to Santa so he can write the children back before Christmas. Bingo for books will be at 3:30 p.m.
Dec. 17: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.
Dec. 17: Join Casting Creations for “Express yourself on Canvas” at 6:30 p.m. in the Lonoke Depot, 102 Front Street in Lonoke. Tickets are $30. This event will be a fundraiser for New Hearts Ministries of Arkansas. For more information or to purchase a ticket call 870-552-5227.
Dec. 18: The Carlisle Public Library will have a Santa themed toddler time at 10 a.m. The library will also be celebrating 30 years in the library building from 2-5 p.m. Patrons are invited to stop by the library, 105 East 5th Street and see how much it has changed over the years. The Virtual display will showcase news clippings and achievements the library has made.
Dec. 19: The Carlisle Elementary School Christmas around the World program will be at 6 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria.
Dec. 11: The Lonoke Public Library Bunny Tales Story time will begin at 10 a.m. at the library. We will have a great party planned for children ages two and up.
Dec. 23: The Carlisle and Lonoke Public School District will be closed through Jan. 3 for Christmas break. Classes will resume 8 a.m. on Jan. 7.
Dec. 23: The Carlisle Public library will be doing Christmas Crafts all day.
Dec. 24 & 25: The Carlisle Public Library will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday.
Dec. 26: It is Wii Day at the Carlisle Public Library. Stop by between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to enjoy the fun.
Dec. 30: It is movie day at the Carlisle Public Library. Stop by a 2 p.m. to watch a movie.
Dec. 31 & Jan. 1: The Carlisle Public Library will be closed in observance of the New Years holiday.
Jan. 6: The Carlisle Public School District will be closed for teacher workshop.
Jan. 20: The Carlisle and Lonoke School District will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
Jan. 27: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the administration building. There will be a reception honoring all past and present board members, and specifically recognizing Rick Pennington for his 21 years of service to the district, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. prior to the meeting.
