Saturday: The Carlisle Masonic Lodge will hold a pancake supper from 5-7 p.m. Admission is $5 or equivalent of food items for the food basket program.

Saturday: Barbara Hicks, who gained notoriety in Tennessee and Mississippi for her painting “First Hunt” will be at Hazen True Value for their Christmas Open House. Hicks is recognized for her original oil paintings of children, wildlife and outdoor scenes. She is best know for taking a photo of a child or a favorite pet and bring it to life on canvas. She encourages you to bring your own photo and she will show you how she can create a masterpiece for you. She will have prints and some framed work on display and can also take orders. Monday: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the administration building.

Tuesday: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the board room at the Civic Center.

Tuesday: The Lonoke Community Thanksgiving Service will begin 7 p.m. at the Apostolic Church located at 421 Eagle St. Offering will be accepted for the support of the Ministerial Alliance Traveler’s Fund as well as the Lonoke Family Resource Services Food Pantry. Refreshments will follow the service.

Wednesday: Toddler time will begin 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Nov. 21-26: Carlisle Public Schools will be closed for Thanksgiving Break.

Nov. 22 and 23: The Carlisle Public Library will be closed.

Nov. 26: The Carlisle Public Library will be showing the movie “Brave” at 3:45 p.m. Popcorn will be provided.

Nov. 28: Toddler time will begin 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Dec. 3: The annual Carlisle Christmas Downtown will begin with the Chamber Hamburger Supper will be from 4-6:30 p.m. in the fire station. Hamburger or hot dog meals including chips and a drink will be available for $5. Line up for the Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Riviana followed by the parade at 6:30 p.m. Anyone wanting to participate in the parade may pick up forms at First State Bank, Bank of England, BancorpSouth or at Fever’s. Nativity lighting at BancorpSouth Bank is to be announced at a later date.

Dec. 8: Pool together and help splash out hunger in Cabot for the Food Alliance Christmas for Kids Program. Join us at Veterans Park Community Center for a community wide pool party from noon to 4 p.m. Splash, swim, slide and play on our inflatable obstacle course (some restrictions will apply) while helping needy children in Cabot have a happy holiday season. Bring the whole family and join the fun. Admission for each person will be a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy. Lifeguards will be on duty to ensure safety and fun for all ages. Dec. 10: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon in the Civic Center.

Dec. 10: The Lonoke City Council will meet at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

Dec. 10: The Carlisle School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom at the Superintendent’s Office.
