Today: “The Evening with the Arts” will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Carlisle High School Bison Arena. The beginning band and the high school band will perform under the direction of Christina Bartlett. The choirs will perform under the direction of Cassandra VanZandt, junior choir and Christina Bartlet senior choir.
The gym lobby will house an art display of student work. Art I is taught by Monica Caviness and an advanced class, 2-D and 3D design, is taught by Carol Hauk.
Lobby of the gym will be open by 5:30 p.m. for the public to view the art exhibits, followed by performances at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Friday: The Relay for Life of Lonoke County will be from 6 p.m. until 12 a.m. at the Gina Cox Center. For more information call 501-690-8538 or visit the website at RelayForLife.org.
Saturday: Grills and Gowns, a pageant and BBQ contest, benefit event for the Lonoke County Council on Again, Meals on Wheels Program will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Lonoke County fair grounds. Cost is $50 for a four member team for the BBQ contest. Turn in time is 3 p.m. Five awards will be given. The pageant will be open to any girls ages birth to 20 years. Cost for pageant entry is $30 for beauty, $10 for photogenic or $35 for beauty and photogenic. Attire will be pageant dress or Sunday best. There will be eight categories winners and one people’s choice winner. Deadline by Mail is April 25 or in person by May 2. Saturday: The Lonoke High School FBLA is having a car wash on Center Street at the car wash beside the tobacco store from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The car wash is a fundraiser to get students to national conference this summer.
Monday: Yoga for kids will be at 5 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library
Tuesday: Mother’s Day craft will be at 4 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. This is for youth age. Seating is limited.
Wednesday: There will be a Mother’s Day themed toddler time at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library
May 12-16: Bison Health Department week from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., May 12-14 at the Lonoke County Health Department, 306 N. Center Street in Lonoke. To schedule a vaccination appointment call 501-676-2268.
May 12: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon in the Civic Center. Meal will be provided for $5.
May 12: Pinch of this, adult cooking demonstration will be at 5:15 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library

May 20: Bingo for books will be at 4 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. All ages are welcome.

May 21: There will be a camping themed toddler time at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library
May 22: Youth ages are invited to make infinity bracelets at 4 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

May 27: Adults are invited to make laundry detergent at 5:30 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. Bring an empty jug.
May 27: There will be an informational meeting for The CALL in Lonoke and Prairie Counties at 6:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cabot, room 107. May 29: There will be a fundraiser from 5- 9 a.m. at Larry’s Pizza in Cabot. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors and join us for good food and good company as we raise funds to help foster children and foster/adoptive families in our community.
