Saturday: The Lonoke Junior Civic League will host the Miss Lonoke Pageant at the Lonoke Primary School at 6 p.m. Requirements include: Must live in Lonoke or attend Lonoke Public Schools and be within the age of 0-18 years (senior in high school). The cost is $35 per contestant. There are also photogenic categories with each age group. It is $10 for the first photo, $5 for each additional photo. Participants may either compete in photogenic by itself or be in the pageant to do photogenic. All the money raised goes straight out to the Lonoke Community. Monday: A free drug awareness meeting, sponsored by Lonoke alderman Efrem Jones and the Bridgeway Hospital will be held at the Lonoke Community Center at 6 p.m. There will be a panel discussion of varying professionals and law enforcement officers to introduce parents, caregivers and guardians of the newest types of drugs being used and abused by youth in the arena. Nov. 8: Carlisle Public Schools will serve breakfast to veterans on at 8:30 a.m. in the high school cafeteria.
Nov. 12: There will be a Title 1 meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Carlisle Elementary School cafeteria.
Nov. 12: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon in the Civic Center.
Nov. 12: The Carlisle School Board meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. in the administration building, beginning with the annual report to the public.
Nov. 13: There will be a blood drive in the Bison arena lobby at Carlisle high school.
Nov. 13: The Lonoke City Council will meet at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting has been moved in observance of the Veteran’s Day holiday.
Nov. 19: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the administration building.
Nov. 20: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the board room at the Civic Center.
