Today: Blind Date with a Book is back this February at the Carlisle Public Library. Stop by and choose a book, write a review and return for your chance to win a Gift Card! Review must be received by Feb. 28.

Today: ARM knitting will beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. All supplies will be furnished.

Saturday: St. Paul Baptist Church, 500 Frank T. Bunton Street, Lonoke, will host a bean and cornbread soul food meal at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Cost is a $5 donation for eat in or carry out. For more information, call 501-676-6141 or 501-676-6948.

Monday: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 will be shown at 3:45 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library. Snack will be provided

Monday: The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.

Monday: The Lonoke City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the court room.

Monday: The Carlisle School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom at the superintendent’s office.

Tuesday: The Grand Prairie Civil War Round Table will be meeting at the Lonoke County Museum, 215 South East Front Street in Lonoke, at 7 p.m. Brian Brown, an attorney in Little Rock, will be the speaker. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Civil War Roundtable of Ark, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in March. Brown’s topic will be “Shiloh - What you didn’t know.” The Battle of Shiloh, also known as the Battle of Pittsburg Landing, was a major battle in the Western Theater of the American Civil War, which was fought April 6–7, 1862, in Hardin County in the southwestern part of Tennessee. Many people who currently reside in Arkansas are actual descendants of men who fought at the Battle of Shiloh. Among the many men who fought those days included the 8th Arkansas CSA and the 10th Arkansas CSA. Everyone is invited to attend and as always, new members and guests are welcome. There is no admission charge.

Wednesday: There will be a Valentine story time at 10 a.m. in the Lonoke Library for children ages two and up.

Wednesday: There will be a Valentine-themed Toddler Time beginning at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Feb. 17: The Lonoke School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the administration building.

Feb. 17: The Carlisle Public Library will be closed in observance of Presidents Day.

Feb. 18: Pinch of This, adult cooking demonstration will be at 5:15 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Feb. 18: The Carlisle City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center.

Feb. 19: There will be a Presidents Day themed Toddler Time beginning at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Feb. 20: Painting on Canvas for Teens in seventh through 12th grade will be at 4 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Feb. 24: There will be science fun from Tweens, students in fourth through sixth grade beginning at 3:45 p.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Feb. 26: There will be a germs themed Toddler Time beginning at 10 a.m. at the Carlisle Public Library.

Feb. 27: A representative from Affordable Care Act will be at the Carlisle Public Library between 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. to assist with enrollment.
