The Carlisle Progressive Club started the new year with a potluck salad luncheon Sept. 11 in the Family Life Center of the Methodist Church. Hostesses Kathleen Faucett and Ann Davis welcomed everyone back with tables dressed for fall. After a short visitation, Sharolyn Sumner introduced guest speaker, Jana Hillman and her grandmother Sharon Hillman. Jana shared some of her experiences from the 71st session of Girls State and thanked the club for sponsoring her.
President Jane Ann Harper conducted the business meeting and discussed plans for carrying out this year’s club projects. New member, Pastor Carolyn Doering, was introduced, and Sue Young discussed the library project, assigning book donations to Lois Ann Bryant and Ann Davis. The meeting was adjourned with the Club Prayer.
The Oct. 8 meeting will be held at the Lonoke County Museum. Members that want to carpool should meet at the Methodist Church parking lot at 1 p.m.
