AGFC rep speaks at Altruistic Club meeting

The Carlisle Altruistic Club met at the Swilley Lodge on Oct. 25. The program was on conservation. Mary Smith was the program leaders and Mary Frances Perkins was the hostess. Kevin Keen of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission was the speaker.

President Carolyn Martin called the meeting to order and Mary Smith introduced Kevin Keen. Keen covered the Arkansas Game and Fish history, funding, education centers and programs. The AGFC not only covers fishing and hunting, but they have programs for schools such as archery and habitat. There are also programs for men and women.

A new member Linda Sanders was introduced. Ruth Woods called the roll and read the previous minutes. Treasurer Dorothy Elmore reported on the accounts. A discussion was held on providing for for a family for Thanksgiving.

Supplies for Safe Haven of Cabot was collected and delivered. The Club Collect was read and the meeting adjourned.

Members enjoyed the social and the food provided by Mary Frances Perkins.
