Settlers' Day Camp will be July 22-24, for child ages 8-12. A park interpreter will lead the children into Arkansas' settlement, from uncharted territories to the time of the last sharecroppers. Hands-on games and activities (subject to change) include: Muleshoe toss (horseshoes), kick-the-can, hoop-rolling, stilt walking, candle making, a flapjack contest, gardening, Dutch oven cooking, militia drills and arms set up, leather crafts and more. Event schedule (subject to change): July 22 - Arkansas Pioneer Day, July 23 - Militia Day, July 24 - Mule Day. Sessions are 9 a.m. to noon. Space is limited to 10 children. Sign up to reserve a place. Registration deadlines is July 17. $40 fee covers snacks and day camp supplies.
