Rough second half hurts Lady Panthers against Conway

On Monday night, the Cabot Lady Panthers lost 62-41 to the visiting Conway Lady Wampus Cats at Panther Arena.

Cabot got off to a hot start leading 10-4 with 3:15 to go in the first quarter. Cabot went into halftime with a 25-24 lead thanks in large part to shooting 46 percent from the field and forcing Conway into 11 turnovers. But that would be the last of momentum for the lady Panthers.

To start the second half Conway scored seven points in the first 45 seconds from three turnovers by the Lady Panthers.

From there the Lady Wampus Cats never looked back outscoring the Lady Panthers by 12 in the third and by 10 in the fourth.

Junior Alyssa Hamilton led Cabot with 11 points, Maddie Willhite had seven. Danielle McWilliams, Lakyn Crumbly, and CoCo Calhoun each had five points. Leighton Taylor and Anna Sullivan each had four points as well.
