Cabot Centennial Bank’s junior American Legion Team knocked off Jonesboro 7-6 on June 12 at the Brian Wade Conrade Memorial Field.
Cabot trailed 1-0 after two innings. Cabot tied the score at 1-1 in the bottom of third. Braden Jarnigan doubled and scored on a double by Josh Kelpine.
Cabot took a 2-1 lead in the fourth. Jacob Womack reached on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Seth Cummings.
Cabot pushed its lead to 7-1 with five runs in the fifth. Mike Harvard led off with a single and scored on a single by Jarnigan. Two batters later, Kayde Ridgeway walked. Lino Garcia followed with a single to drive in Jarnigan. Womack then walked. Seth Cummings then singled, driving in Ridgeway and Garcia. Womack scored when Jarrett Pitchford reached on an error.
Jonesboro then scored four runs in the sixth and one in the eighth of the nine-inning contest.
Jarnigan led Cabot with three hits. Also collecting hits were Kelpine, Garcia, Jack Teague, Cummings and Harvard.
Cabot used five pitchers in the victory, combining to strike out 12 Jonesboro hitters.
Caleb Harpole struck out five while Cummings, who got credit for the win, had three.

The Cabot Centennial Bank Red American Legion junior team fell to the Little Rock Cobras 11-0 on Friday.
The Cobras scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first.
Cabot had only two hits. Jarrett Pitchford doubled with two outs in the fourth but was stranded at second base. Lino Garcia singled in the fifth and went to second on a ground out but was stranded at second.
