On Tuesday, April 6, the Cabot Panthers swept the Little Rock Central Tigers in a conference doubleheader at the Brian Wade Conrade Memorial Field.
After 10 innings and a walk off two-run single by Kason Kimbrell, the Panthers found themselves victorious with a 6-5 decision over Central.
Ryan Logan started the game pitching for Cabot. Logan gave up a two-run home run in the first, but seemed to settle in with only one run in the next three innings. Cabot found themselves down 3-0 going into the bottom of the fifth. Casey Vaughan and Riley Knudsen led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Coleman McAtee then hit a shot to right center ending in a two-run triple. Kimbrell then followed with an RBI single, driving in McAtee.
Cabot was down by one with two outs in the eighth when Knudsen drove in Ryan Logan with a double in the gap.
Kimbrell led Cabot with four hits and three RBIs, Knudsen added three hits along with one RBI, and McAtee finished with two hits as well as a pair of RBIs.
The Cabot Panthers completed the doubleheader sweep of Central with a 13-11 win in the nightcap right before midnight.
The Panthers scored twice in the first. Casey Vaughan hit a two-run homer. Cole Thomas was on base for the homer.
Cabot scored a single run in the second. Tristan Bulice doubled and scored. Cabot’s four run came in the third. Kason Kimbrell walked and scored on a passed ball.
The Panthers then scored five runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh to get the win.
