The Cabot Community Center hosted the Panther Invitational Swim Meet on Thursday evening, with more than 190 swimmers taking part.

The Cabot Panthers and Lady Panthers both had very good showings, but both came in second to the Mountain Home Bombers and Lady Bombers.

The boys scored 340 points to Mountain Home’s 386. The Lady Panthers had 391 to the Lady Bombers’ 438.

Cabot had swimmers in the top three in almost every event. The 400-yard freestyle relay was the only event neither team finished in the top three.

For the boys, Seth Fox gave the Panthers a pair of first place ribbons in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard Backstroke. Payton Jones finished first in the 200-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard butterfly.

Jordan Woodson picked up second place in the 200-yard individual medley and another finished first in the long 500-yard freestyle.

Brent Bockel finished first in the 100-freestyle, while Noah Joyner was third in the 200-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke.

As a team, the Panthers finished second in the 200-yard medley relay and also in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Lady Panthers had a few more first place finishes for their efforts, but couldn’t quite keep up with the Lady Bombers overall.

Haylee Beckley and Jessie Baldwin both won a pair of first place ribbons. Beckley won in the 100-yard butterfly and the 500-yard freestyle. Baldwin took first in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke.

Caytee Wright won first in the 100- freestyle and second in the 50- freestyle.

Riley Young took first place in the 200-yard IM, while Samantha Grey won first in the 1-meter diving. Katie Frederick earned a third place ribbon in the 200-yard freestyle.
