Second half woes continued for the Cabot Lady Panthers this past week with losses to Little Rock Central and West Memphis.
Tuesday night saw the Lady Panthers lose 49-32 to the Lady Tigers despite leading 22-19 at halftime.
Cabot came out strong in the first quarter and led 12-7 after the opening period. The lead narrowed by halftime, but the Lady Panthers still looked good going into the break.
The second half saw things unravel for Cabot, as Little Rock Central came to outscore the Lady Panthers 30-10 as Cabot struggled to get back on track offensively.
Alyssa Hamilton led the Lady Panthers with 14 points. Anna Sullivan scored nine points, while CoCo Calhoon scored five and Danielle McWilliams added four.
Friday night at home against West Memphis, the Lady Panthers fell 54-46 to the Lady Blue Devils.
This time, Cabot did not not come out firing in the first quarter. West Memphis took it to Cabot early and held a 13-5 lead. The Lady Panthers switched those numbers in the second quarter to tie the game 18-18 going into halftime.
The second half saw the Lady Blue Devils just slowly pull away from the Lady Panthers. Cabot remained within striking distance throughout, but couldn’t get the consecutive plays they needed to pull even.
Sullivan had a much better game offensively, this time leading all scorers with 21 points. Hamilton was solid again with 15 points. McWilliams scored five, while Leighton Taylor scored four and Rachel Allgood added a free throw.
